Upper Urr valley is home to some important habitats and species
Survey work from 2020 highlighted the fantastic species diversity - one portion of land was found to have nearly 150 species of plants, 42 plus species of bird - several of which are on the red list (i.e. severely declining) and red list butterflies. You can read the full report

Email us your photographs - we're keen to document this diversity so if you have pictures from the area, we'd love to share it on our gallery page
UUET began in 2020 with a board of three volunteer trustees, all living within the Corsock area and keen to do something to help the local environment.

As members of the local community council, discussion often involved forestry and wind-farm developments. The need for a body that these industries could engage with was clear, to both put forward the needs of the local community and champion protection of the environment and biodiversity.
