Botany Report

The Upper Urr valley, is home to some important habitats and species. Survey work from 2019 highlighted the fantastic species diversity

Below is a link to SWSEIC (South West Scotland Environmental Information Centre) and a report by the Kirkcudbrightshire Botany Group at the Urr Water, Glaisters Bridge and Glaisters.

In just one small portion, they found 150 species of plant, 42-plus species of bird, several of which are on the red list and red list butterflies. Being such a rich site, the group only had time to survey a small area.
